Become a Practitioner at the GNHC
The vision and direction of the Centre is guided by the Directors who are all working practitioners at GNHC.
The day-to-day management is looked after by three Manager/Directors assisted by an Administrator and Senior Receptionist. The Centre has four part time reception and administrative staff.
All the practitioners work on a self employed basis, renting room space from GNHC Ltd. If you want to offer an additional therapy it must be with the full knowledge and consent of the directors of GNHC.
Practitioners pay 25% of their fees in rent to a minimum of £27 per session (£30.00 from 1 January 2009). All practitioners have a day book in which appointments and fees are noted and rent owing calculated. New practitioners have a one month minimum reservation free period to help start their practice.
All practitioners pay £12 per month from the date of starting into the general advertising fund. A months notice is required to relinquish a session.
GNHC aims to provide a happy and mutually supportive space for practitioners to develop their practices. We offer a mentoring system within GNHC to offer help and support when necessary. We also encourage cross referral within the centre so that we can offer a better service to our clients and improve our own knowledge of the value of other disciplines.
Want to be a Practitioner at the Greenwich Natural Health Centre?
Below is a list of the criteria that have to be met before we will normally consider applications to work at GNHC:
- The Practitioner should hold qualifications for practising their given therapy. The Practitioner may only practise the therapy in which they are trained and are applying to practise at GNHC.
- The practitioner must have valid certification in their particular therapy, a current valid insurance certificate and a current valid first aid certificate.
- It is preferred that any potential Practitioner shall have a minimum of two years postgraduate experience in their chosen field. Under certain circumstances, an assistant to an existing practitioner will be considered but the existing practitioner must undertake responsibility for such an assistant and be available for consultation and supervision.
- The Practitioner should have an existing list of patients/clients. It is preferred that there should be sufficient clients to make at least one booking for each session worked.
- The Practitioner should have given consideration to how she/he will increase their list of patients/clients seen at the Centre and should have a target and plan for how this increase will be achieved. Participation in Centre events are expected to form part of this plan.
- The Practitioner should be committed to the principle of holistic health care and be willing to work in co-operation with other therapists, referring patients to other practitioners within the Centre as appropriate.
- The Practitioner should endeavour to undertake some form of ongoing Continual Professional Development (CPD).
If you feel that you meet these criteria and are interested in working at the Centre, please print and complete this form (PDF) and mail it to us (address at the bottom of this page). The initial application will be dealt with by our Administrator. We will also require a current curriculum vitae (CV) and marketing plan. We endeavour to deal with initial enquiries within two weeks. If we have a current vacancy for the therapy you are offering, we will ask you to come in for an interview with two of our Managers/Directors.
We look forward to hearing from you.
